Photography Portfolio FAQ

How can I find the photographs on your website?

There are several options. If you click on Galleries in the header you can then select a particular gallery and see the images it contains. Alternatively you can browse by tags in the footer or use the search feature.

How do I buy a photograph to download?

When you are viewing a gallery, click on the photograph you wish to download and you will see a ‘Buy this photo’ button.

What restrictions are placed on using the download link?

After payment, the download link you receive will expire after 48 hours or after three downloads.

How can I pay for my purchase?

You can use any major credit or debit card.

Will I receive a receipt?

Yes. After payment, you will be diverted to a receipt page which also contains the download link.

I notice there is a watermark on all the images. Will this be removed if I buy a photograph?

Yes. You will receive a full resolution original photograph in JPEG format without any watermarks.

Is more information available about the photographs?

Yes. After clicking on an image in a gallery, click the ‘Learn more’ button.

Do you offer photographic prints?

No. I only offer downloads. However, you can use the download file to print the photograph at your own local printers or upload it to an online print service.

What licences apply to a photograph that I download?

You can choose either a personal or commercial licence.

After I click on an image in a gallery I see a lightbox view and a caption. How can I remove the caption?

In the lightbox view click on the image and the caption will be hidden. Click again to reveal the caption.

What software do you use to edit photographs?

My main editing tool is Adobe Lightroom Classic. Every image you see here has been processed in this application. Some fine art work, for example, isolated subjects against a blurred background, required the use of Adobe Photoshop.

What equipment do you use?

Originally a Canon 800D (Rebel T7i) with 18-55mm f/4-5.6 kit lens, EF 50mm f/1.8 STM or Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD. Now a Canon EOS R8 with RF 24-240mm f4-6.3 IS USM or RF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens.
